Oscar Delaite set a new world record for the longest continuous wheelie, riding 150.4 km on a bike over six and a half hours. Discover how he mastered balance, endurance, and precision to achieve this mind-blowing feat.

On September 20, 2025, French cyclist Oscar Delaite made history by completing the longest continuous wheelie ever recorded on a bicycle. At an indoor track in Vittel, France, he balanced on his rear wheel for 752 laps of a 200-meter track, covering a total of 150.4 km (93.4 miles) over six and a half hours.

“After a year of training, I finally achieved my wheelie record goal! I rode 150 km in 6 hours and 31 minutes without stopping,” Delaite shared. “It was a demanding and long challenge, but completely worth it. I’m proud to have reached the 150 km mark.”

Wheelie Record Details:

  • Distance: 150.4 km (93.39 miles)
  • Duration: 6 hours 30 minutes
  • Laps: 752 (200 m indoor track)
  • Average Speed: 23.14 kph (14.38 mph)

These figures are remarkable. While the record is pending official certification, Delaite almost doubled the previous record of 81.59 km set by Richard Flanagan in 2019.

Covering 150 km on a regular bike is challenging, but maintaining a wheelie for that distance is an extraordinary feat of balance, endurance, and focus.

Why an Indoor Track?

Delaite chose an indoor track to ensure official validation and eliminate external variables.

“For it to count officially, I needed an approved track. Indoors, the surface is flat and consistent, with no wind or weather to interfere,” he explained.

Bike Setup

He rode a rigid-frame bike from Rose Bikes with thick, smooth Thickslick tires supplied by Wilderness Trail Bikes.

The saddle was set low at the front to help maintain balance during the wheelie. Beyond this, the setup was simple, highlighting skill rather than technical modifications.

A Record-Breaking History

This isn’t Delaite’s first record. In 2023, he set the longest bicycle wheelie without the front wheel touching the ground at 100.5 km. In 2024, he broke the record for the longest one-handed wheelie, riding for 1 hour 46 minutes and 36 seconds.

Three consecutive years of setting wheelie world records show Delaite’s dedication and ambition.

“Thanks to everyone supporting me from the start. This is just the beginning,” he posted on his Instagram profile.
