Johannes Høsflot Klæbo has ruled the Milano-Cortina 2026 spotlight again, but now the buzz is about a potential switch to pro cycling. With Uno-X ties, team support, and real time in the peloton’s orbit, the idea feels surprisingly plausible.

After winning six gold medals at the Milano-Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic Games, Johannes Høsflot Klæbo has once again dominated headlines, as the most decorated winter athlete in Olympic history.

This time, however, the discussion is not about cross-country skiing results but about a possible future in professional cycling.

The idea is not as unlikely as it sounds.

Professional cycling has already welcomed several winter athletes in recent years. Primoz Roglic transitioned from ski jumping to Grand Tour victories. Florian Lipowitz moved from biathlon. Anton Palzer and Jorgen Nordhagen also swapped snow for asphalt.

Klæbo has direct links to the peloton.

The skier himself said: "First I have to do the Games [Olympics 2026] and then we will see," he stated in a video from the Uno-X team. "After the Games, I will start thinking about what I will do next, so maybe joining the Uno-X team should be the next goal."

Thor Hushovd, former world road champion and current head of Uno-X Mobility, confirmed he has encouraged Klæbo to consider cycling after the Olympics. Hushovd has trained with him and praised his natural bike handling, position, and exceptional endurance capacity.

The Norwegian has already joined Uno-X training sessions, ridden reconnaissance ahead of the 2025 Tour of Flanders, and followed the Tour de France from inside the team car.

While Klæbo has not made any official announcement, he has left the door open about his future in Pro Cycling.
